Jane was a senior member of the clinical team at the Diabetes Centre at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) in Sydney’s Inner West – the only Diabetes Centre in the world to be awarded two prestigious International Diabetes Federation Certificates of Excellence – for 30 years. This means that she has extensive experience in all types of diabetes. She is passionate about her work and goes that extra mile to ensure everyone she sees walks away feeling more confident and in control of their lives.
She is recognised as one of Australia’s leading nurse practitioners in the field of diabetes. She is frequently asked to speak at National and International meetings and has served on committees for peak organisations such as The International Diabetes Federation and The World Health Organisation.
She is particularly passionate and knowledgeable about type 1 diabetes. This has led her to have a strong working relationship with JDRF. She has even jumped out of a plane for them!
Jane has held numerous roles with JDRF. These include acting as a Board Member, Consultant, and Committee Chair. She was also instrumental in the development of JDRF’s T1D adult pack. This pack includes a comprehensive book for adults living with diabetes, ‘Straight to the Point’, which Jane co-authored. She has also written three book chapters and authored countless journal and peer-reviewed articles.
